This coming Sunday’s public worship in the parish will be at Holy Trinity.

Archbishop Edwards and Debbie Edwards remain in Britain, dealing with multiple family crises. They ask for continued prayer.

Recently the Richmond Compassion Fund joined with St Luke’s to assist someone escaping a dire situation. A second person recovering from a fire was also supported. It has also purchased backpacks destined for needy students in local schools. Congregants are asked to bring in school supplies to go along with them.

Home visits – In times of crisis the rector will be there. Other visits can be arranged by speaking to her or leaving a call back message at 506-328-3042.

There is good news. A couple of weeks ago the e-News noted the 250^th anniversary of the defeat of forceful attempts to draw the Maritimes into the American republic. The single most notable event was the siege of Fort Cumberland, on what is now the border between NB and NS. The prize-winning historian of that episode is fellow parishioner Ernest Clarke. Those with access to the Halifax Chronicle Herald newspaper for last weekend will find an extensive account of Ernest’s adventures at the recent Fort Cumberland commemoration, including a photo of fans mobbing him to sign copies of his book. “So many interesting discussions, enquiries, and q&a's that by late afternoon it threatened to become a blur.” Carry on, Ernest.

This week’s e-News shares a photo of the celebrated (but thirsty) Ernest Clarke after speaking at the recent Fort Cumberland commemoration. There is also a shot of flowers at last night’s beautiful Evening Prayer in the now accessible St Mark’s.
